How Does it Perform?

All trims sport a 2.4L four-cylinder engine that makes 201 horsepower and 180-pound feet of torque. The engine mates to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with a front-wheel drivetrain. The base trim offers a host of features. Instead of having different trims, Acura offers upgrade packages that add more performance and comfort features to the ILX.

There are no engine upgrades for the ILX, but the current engine is adequate for regular driving around St Charles and Chesterfield. The engine offers 34 mpg fuel efficiency on the highway while it offers 24 mpg in the city. These are some of the best ratings for its class.

The vehicle sits five passengers. Its seats are supportive and highly comfortable for long hours of driving. However, the back row is best suited for children as adults may not feel comfortable during long drives, thanks to the small legroom. The sedan can hold 12.4 cubic feet of cargo in its trunk, which is standard for a small luxury sedan.

The technology package brings more tech features, such as a 10-speaker stereo system, navigation, and Acura's connected services.

Safety

The new Acura ILX has a rating of five stars out of the possible five from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration safety tests. It performed exemplary in the NHTSA side crash tests, frontal crash, and rollover tests.
